Categories for Poster Presentations

Participants must select a specific research category for their poster:

  • Animal Sciences
  • Behavioral Sciences (includes sociology, anthropology, and psychology)
  • Biochemistry
  • Cellular and Molecular Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Sciences
  • Earth and Planetary Sciences
  • Energy (includes energy production, conservation, and renewable resources)
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Geospatial Sciences (includes GPS, GIS, and remote sensing)
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Microbiology
  • Physics and Astronomy
  • Plant Sciences
  • Product Sciences (includes quality and effectiveness of off-the-shelf products)
  • Social Sciences (includes anthropology, archaeology, sociology, and geography)

Additional Research Requirements

Participants doing research in some categories may be required to complete approval forms before they start work on their research projects. If your project includes vertebrate animals, potentially hazardous agents, tissue, or human subjects, you will need to complete the appropriate forms, which can be downloaded from the Society for Science & the Public. A copy of your completed forms must be attached to the back of your poster. 

Arrival, Check-In, and Poster Setup

Participants should arrive around 8:30 a.m. Check-in and student poster setup in the main display area will be from 8:30–9:00 a.m. 

Note: This event will be held in the Brown Ballroom on the lower level of the Bone Student Center. Parking is available for cars in the adjoining lot, and bus parking is available west of Redbird Arena  (see the Schedule of Events page for more information about parking.)
