What is STEM?At CeMaST, we get asked this a lot! STEM is a group of disciplines that collectively solve societal problems. “STEM” is also often used to refer to an approach to teaching and learning these subjects that is not only hands-on and minds-on, interdisciplinary, and real-world relevant
CeMaST was founded in 1991 to assist in integrating efforts of diverse departments, drawn from different colleges in the university, in meeting the needs of Illinois schools in addressing issues related to mathematics, science, and technology education. Since 1991, CeMaST has been building a national reputation for developing and supporting successful projects and activities around STEM education.
