This event is no longer run by CeMaST and has merged with the Illinois Sustainable Living and Wellness Expo. More information can be found at www.islwe.org.
The origins of Family Science Day go all the way back to 2004, when it first began as Family Science Night as part of an outreach event at the Challenger Learning Center. The next two events (in 2005 and 2006) were held in the Bone Student Center Ballroom. After 2006, it was discontinued due to lack of resources. In 2011, CeMaST, along with the Challenger Learning Center and Children’s Discovery Museum, revived the event, which continues to grow each year in sponsors, exhibits, and attendance.
