STEM Teaching Observation & Coaching

The CeMaST Director, Dr. Rebekka Darner, is happy to observe your teaching in your STEM classroom and provide feedback, support, and coaching toward improved STEM instruction and learning. This coaching can be customized to provide feedback about a specific concern, or she can use the Classroom Observation Protocol for Undergraduate STEM (COPUS), a validated instrument to reliably characterize how an instructor and students are spending their time in the classroom, which can be informative to improving instruction and educational outcomes. Feedback will always be provided confidentially, although a letter documenting participation can be provided if a faculty member wants to include the experience as evidence of reflective teaching practice in their tenure or promotion materials.
